Biscuits Top Lookouts, 4-1

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Montgomery starting pitcher Matt Buschmann combined with two relievers to four-hit the Lookouts in a 4-1 victory in Sunday evening action at AT&T Field.

Montgomery entered the scoreboard first in the top of the third with two runs. Hak-Ju Lee led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a Tyler Bortnick sacrifice fly. Kyeong Kang followed with a hit by pitch to put runners on the corners. A costly throwing error by Lookouts starting pitcher Matt Magill (2-2) to first allowed Lee to score and put runners on second and third. Michael Sheridan hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring home Kang to put the score at 2-0.

Former Lookout Brad Coon hit a double and the sixth and made his way home on a subsequent David Wendt single to augment the Biscuits' lead, 3-0.

After two outs were quickly recorded in the bottom of the sixth, Anthony Jackson reached first on a seemingly innocuous walk. Jackson then swiped second to put himself into scoring position, which paid off, as Rafael Ynoa came through with an RBI double to give the Lookouts their first run of the game.

Kang added an insurance run to the Biscuits' total with a solo shot in the top of the ninth inning.

Adam Liberatore shut the door on the Lookouts in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win, notching his third save of the season in the process.

Matt Buschmann (1-1) earned the win for the Biscuits. In six solid innings, he yielded just one run on two hits and two walks, while striking out two.
