Biscuits Swept in Double-Header

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Biscuits (26-26) were swept in a double-header by the Jacksonville Suns (27-25) losing 4-2 then 6-3 on Tuesday night at the Baseball Grounds.

The Suns started quickly in game one, scoring one run in the first then three runs in the second off of Victor Mateo (6-4). Mateo then settled in, holding the Suns scoreless for the final four innings.

The Biscuits got on the board with an RBI-double in the sixth inning to make it a 4-1 game. Three batters later, Luke Maile drove in Moore with a double to make it 4-2.

Nick Wittgren (7) finished off the Biscuits to earn the save while Chipper Smith (1-0) went 5.1 innings for the win.

In game two, the Biscuits hit three home runs, but all were solo shots in a 6-3 loss. Ryan Brett led off the game with a home run. Riccio Torrez hit a long ball in the second to give the Biscuits a 2-1 lead. Alejandro Segovia homered in the seventh to make it a 6-3 game.

The Suns broke things open with a four-run fifth inning. Austin Nola singled to give the Suns a 3-2 lead then Rich Poythress drove in three runs with a double to make it 6-2.

The Biscuits have now lost five-straight.

The Biscuits will play game four against the Suns at 12:05 on Wednesday afternoon. The reigning Southern League Pitcher of the Week, RH Dylan Floro will start for the Biscuits. RH Jay Rogers will throw for the Suns.
