KODAK, Tenn. -- Chris Mason (13-4) and Brian Henderson combined to pitch a six-hit shutout at Smokies Park Saturday night as the Montgomery Biscuits (26-17; 61-52) blanked the Tennessee Smokies, 4-0.

The Biscuits took the 2-1 series lead and threw their league-leading 10th shutout of the season.

Montgomery shortstop Reid Brignac doubled in the game winner in the first inning, followed by a John Jaso RBI single. Patrick Breen added insurance with a seventh-inning two-run homer.

Mason, who tied for the Double-A lead in wins, threw six shutout innings, allowing five hits and striking out three. He was aided by Henderson, who earned his first save by tossing three shutout innings.

Mason's only real trouble came in the fifth inning, when the Smokies loaded the bases with one out. However, he induced a double play from Nate Spears to end the inning.

The BIscuits remained three games back of the Jacksonville Suns in the South Division race.

Sunday's game at 4 p.m. CST will be the fourth game of the series and features Montgomery righty Tony Peguero against Tennessee righthander Ryan O'Malley.
