Jaxx Snap Four-Game Skid, 11-5

(Zebulon, NC) August 5th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx snapped a four game losing streak on Sunday afternoon as the Diamond Jaxx scored eleven runs en route to an 11-5 win over the Carolina Mudcats before a Sunday afternoon crowd of 3658 at Five County Stadium.

Charlton Jimerson had a big day for the Diamond Jaxx, going 4-6 with a homer and five RBI's. Jimerson now leads the Southern League with twenty-two homers and was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. Marshall Hubbard, Matt Tuiasosopo and newly acquired Jesus Merchan had two hits each to help spark a thirteen hit Diamond Jaxx attack. Justin Thomas was the beneficiary of the Jaxx offensive explosion as Thomas picked up the win. Thomas (4-7) allowed four runs on five hits in five innings of work.

Gaby Hernandez was roughed up as he suffered the loss. Hernandez (7-9) allowed seven runs on six hits with five walks in just 3 1/3 innings of work. Alejandro De Aza homered in his third game of his major league rehab. Ryan Bear homered and drove in three runs to help spur an eight hit attack.

Game four of the five game series takes place on Monday night at 6:15 CDT. Righty Joe Woerman (5-6 4.05) gets the start for the Jaxx. Carolina will throw righty Chris Volstad (0-1 0.00) to the hill.
