MOBILE, AL - Javier Brito had every BayBears RBI in a 4-2 win over Birmingham Sunday, ending a three game losing streak for the BayBears. Brito's first triple of the year came with the bases loaded in the third inning, scoring three runs. His RBI single in the fifth gave the BayBears their fourth and final run of the game. Birmingham's only two runs came in the ninth, on a two-run home run by David Cook.

BayBears starter Esmerling Vasquez (8-4) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just five hits. Vasquez struck out three Barons, and his BayBears rotation best ERA dropped to 2.92. The BayBears scored all four runs off Birmingham starter Ryan Wing (5-5), who suffered his fifth loss. Thomasville native Corwin Malone and lefty Tim Bittner threw a combined 3.1 scoreless innings of relief for Birmingham.

The BayBears have now won one of the three games against Birmingham, and now stand in third place in the South Division, 9.5 games behind first place Jacksonville, who lost in Chattanooga Sunday.

The BayBears play Monday and Tuesday against Birmingham, starting RHP Max Scherzer (2-4) Monday, against Birmingham RHP Kyle McCullough (0-0) at 7:05 PM.
