Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY - The Montgomery Biscuits have received righthander Tony Peguero from Durham (AAA - International League) and added him to their starting rotation. The 26-year-old will start tonight against the Tennessee Smokies.

Peguero was a part of the Biscuits' 2006 championship team, posting a 10-12 record and a 2.97 ERA in 21 starts and 10 bullpen appearances. However, this season in Durham has been a different story for the native of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. He was 2-4 in 22 appearances with a 7.35 ERA. He had allowed 52 earned runs, an opponents' .315 batting average, and 40 walks to just 29 strikeouts.

To make room for Peguero on the roster, Tampa Bay has moved reliever Brett Wayne to Hudson Valley (Short-A - New York-Penn League). Wayne is 2-0 with a 5.18 ERA in 27 games out of the bullpen.
