
Biscuits Pound Smokes 17-4

KODAK, Tenn. - The Biscuits (66-54/32-20) pounded the Tennessee Smokies (64-57/25-27) with a season-high in runs scored with a 17-2 win Thursday night at Smokies Park.
Patrick Leonard hit the first home run of the night with a solo shot in the third inning to give the Biscuits a 4-0 lead. Later in the inning, Daniel Robertson ripped a two-run shot to make it a 6-0 game. Cameron Seitzer hit a three-run blast in the fourth inning and was then followed by a home run from Dayron Varona for back-to-back jacks.
Robertson had a huge night finishing 4-for-6 including two doubles, a home run and four RBI. He scored a run in a three-run second inning highlighted by a two-run triple by Johnny Field. The shortstop drove in two runs in the seventh with a double. Then Robertson picked up his second double and fourth run scored in the eighth inning.
The Biscuits went into the seventh inning leading 10-0. In the seventh and eighth innings, the Biscuits brought 21 men to the plate and scored seven runs, six coming in the seventh.
Six of the Biscuits finished with multiple hits, while three finished with at least three hits on a 17-hit night. The 17 runs scored set a season-high for the Biscuits.
The Biscuits will play a double-header against the Smokies Friday evening starting at 5:05 CT. LH Chris Kirsch will throw game one for the Biscuits. They have not yet announced their game two starter. The Smokies will have RH Ryan Williams in game one and RH Fernando Cruz in game two.
