PEARL, Miss. - White Sox No. 1 prospect Tim Anderson totaled seven bases on three hits to steer the Barons to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory Wednesday night against the Braves, snapping a season-worst seven-game losing streak.

Anderson came up just a triple shy of the cycle at Trustmark Park, which included his fourth home run of the season. The quick shortstop's speed also contributed to the game's first run. Standing at second with a leadoff double, a pickoff and throwing error led to him advancing to third. After the failed rundown, starting pitcher John Gant was called for a balk to bring Anderson home.

The Braves followed up with runs in the fourth and sixth against Birmingham starting pitcher Matt Heidenreich in his 2015 Barons debut. The right-hander allowed just eight hits and struck out seven batters, but trailed Mississippi 4-1 when he exited after the sixth inning. Lucky for Heidenreich, the Barons' offense was not quite finished.

Catcher Adrian Nieto gave Birmingham one run back in the seventh with an RBI double, and Anderson pulled the Barons within one with his solo homer in the eighth. After the blast cleared the bases, Mississippi reliever Mauricio Cabrera issued a walk to Jacob May and gave a game-tying RBI double to Christian Marrero.

Birmingham's winning run came just three batters after Marrero's double. Ryne Harper was brought on to relieve Cabrera and get Mississippi, yet instead threw a wild pitch to the backstop allowing Marcus Lemon to score the game-winning run from third.

Robinson Leyer (2-1, 5.72 ERA) earned the win in relief, while Cabrera (0-1, 7.15 ERA) was charged with the loss and blown save. Right-hander Peter Tago picked up the save with a no-hit, scoreless ninth inning.

The win puts Birmingham two games behind first-place Montgomery in the Southern League North standings with 19 games left in the regular season.

Game three of the series is set for 7 p.m. Thursday with Birmingham right-hander Mark Blackmar (5-5, 3.48 ERA) taking on Mississippi righty Greg Ross (7-9, 3.98 ERA). The Barons and Braves have won one each.
