PEARL, Miss. - The Biscuits (21-17) scored seven runs in the first three innings as they cruised to a 9-3 victory over the Mississippi Braves (19-19) Tuesday night at Trustmark Park.

The Biscuits hit around J.R. Graham - who had given up seven runs in seven innings against the Biscuits prior to Tuesday's start. Willie Argo, Jeremy Moore and Jake Hager all drove in one run each in the first inning to give the Biscuits a three-run lead. Taylor Motter drove in a run in the second, followed by an Argo two-run double to chase Graham from the game and give the Biscuits a 6-0 advantage.

Roberto Gomez (1-0) - in his AA-debut - benefited from the early run support to get the win. The Dominican right-hander retired the first six batters he faced before allowing two runs in the third and one in the fourth.

Montgomery added two runs in the sixth with an RBI from Motter and an RBI from Argo. Argo finished the game with a season-high four RBI while Motter turned in a three-hit night to lead the Biscuits who collected 13 hits on the night.

Bryce Stowell, Matt Ramsey and Matt Neil combined to throw four scoreless-innings out of the bullpen.

The rubber-match between the Biscuits and Braves is Wednesday morning at 11:00. RH Michael Colla with throw against RH Jason Hursh.
