Andrew Chafin (W, 3-1) earned his third win of the 2014 season after allowing one run on four hits in six innings of action; finishing with a pair of walks and a pair of strikeouts.
Angel Sanchez (L, 0-6) was dealt the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits in five innings of work, while issuing two walks and striking out three BayBears.
Jheyson Manzueta allowed one unearned run on three hits in two innings of relief, with Edgar Olmos allowing two runs (both earned) on four hits to finish off the ballgame for the Suns.
The BayBears hopped on Angel Sanchez early, with all three of their runs in the top of the first inning coming on a three-run homer off the bat of Jon Griffin (HR, 3).
Mobile added another run to make it 4-0 in the top of the third after a wacky play saw Jon Griffin come around to score from first base when Daniel Bowman grounded out to short.
The Suns broke through with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Rich Poythress came down to score on an Austin Nola sacrifice fly.
After adding a run apiece in the sixth and eighth innings, Jon Griffin (HR, 4) went deep again for the BayBears in the top of the ninth, launching a solo shot over the wall in left to extend the lead to 7-1 in favor of Mobile.
Tuesday's two-homer game is the first multi-home run effort that Griffin has had since August 26, 2012 when he was a member of the California League's Visalia Rawhide in an 11-6 win over the Stockton Ports.
The Suns and BayBears will be back at it Wednesday afternoon from Bragan Field for the fifth and final game of this series. The Suns send out the lefty Justin Nicolino (2-2, 3.11) while the BayBears will counter with right-hander Mike Lee (3-2, 2.30) for Wednesday's finale.
