Carroll to Lynchburg, Greene to Mississippi

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves outfielder Dan Carroll has been reassigned to High-A Lynchburg from Double-A Mississippi. In corresponding moves, outfielder Justin Greene has been signed by the Atlanta Braves and assigned to Double-A Mississippi.

Carroll, 25, joined the M-Braves on May 7 and hit .231 in five games. He started the season at Low-A Rome where he hit .342 in 10 games. In six games at High-A Lynchburg, he hit .313. He was originally selected by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 2007 draft. He spent six seasons in the Mariners system and started the 2013 season with the Independent Lincoln Saltdogs. He was signed by the Braves as a free agent in July 2013.

Greene, 28, began the season with Mobile in the Diamondbacks organization. He hit .174 in 30 games for the BayBears before being released on May 12. The outfielder was originally selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 20th round of the 2008 draft. Prior to the 2014 season, Greene had a .276 average with 112 doubles, 38 triples, 44 homers and 234 RBI in six minor league seasons (five in the White Sox system).

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 5 disabled.
