MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (28-30) fell behind by seven runs for the second-straight game, but another late rally came up just short as the Biloxi Shuckers (30-28) claimed the 10-8 victory on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Patrick Wicklander's (1-1) first Double-A start had a rough opening, as Biloxi was able to put two runs on the board following a sacrifice fly from Wes Clarke and an RBI-single from Jeferson Quero in the first.

Christian Mejias' (4-3) 10th start of the season opened slightly better, but a wild pitch allowed Ronny Simon to cross the plate and make the score 2-1. However, Mejias was able to strike out Logan Driscoll and strand two runners in scoring position at the end of the inning.

The Shuckers' found two more runs in the top of the second after Zavier Warren homered on a fly ball to the scoreboard behind left-center field, making the score 4-1 in favor of Biloxi.

After a quiet third inning, Jackson Chourio opened the top of the fourth with an RBI-double to make the score 5-1. The Shuckers had the bases loaded with two outs, but John Doxakis was able to escape the jam and send the game into the next frame.

Chourio brought in three more runs in the top of the fifth after hitting a 373 ft. home run over the right field wall to put the Biscuits down seven runs. Montgomery made a response in the next frame after Simon recorded an RBI-triple to make the score 8-2. Not long after, a balk brought in the runner from third to make the score 8-3 as the game moved into the sixth.

Wes Clarke led off the inning with a 416 ft. solo-shot behind center field to extend the deficit back to six runs. The bottom-frame saw Junior Caminero come in to score on a wild pitch to make the score 9-4, and it was the third run without an RBI tonight for the Biscuits.

A sacrifice fly from Jeferson Quero gave the Shuckers their 10th run of the night and another six-run lead heading into the bottom of the eighth. Diego Infante responded with a 392 ft. three-run dinger behind right field to put the Biscuits within three runs going into the final inning.

Montgomery cut the deficit to two runs after Austin Shenton recorded an RBI-single, and not long after the bases were loaded with two outs. Zach Vennaro checked in for Luis Contreras, and it only took one pitch to end the ballgame as Infante grounded into a forceout.

The Biscuits and the Shuckers return for the second matchup of a six-game series on Wednesday, June 14. Cole Wilcox (0-5) will make his 12th start of the season for Montgomery.

The series will include a Hawaiian Shirt Giveaway presented by RTJ at Capitol Hill on Thirsty Thursday, June 15; Ladies Night on Friday, June 16; Outdoors Night presented by Outdoor Alabama feat. Specialty Jerseys and Max Fireworks on Saturday, June 17th; and a Father's Day Pint Glass Giveaway presented by Common Bond Brewers and Bark in the Park on Sunday, June 18th.
