BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, fell in a Sunday afternoon matinee to the Memphis Hustle, 129-112.
After an eight-point Birmingham lead at the half, Memphis (3-5) went on an 18-2 run midway through the third and never looked back, leading through the remainder of the contest.
The Squadron (4-2) were led in scoring by Landers Nolley's 25 points. Nolley notched a double-double with 11 rebounds as well. Two-way guard Dereon Seabron tallied 22 points and hauled in seven boards, while Jalen Crutcher scored 18 and dished out eight assists.
Jason Preston's triple-double (16 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists) paced the Hustle, while David Johnson's 27 off the bench was the leading mark in points for Memphis.
Birmingham now turns its attention to a three-game road trip, with the first game at Austin on Friday with tip-off set for 7 p.m. The game can be seen locally on My68 WABM or nationally on NBA G League TV on Tubi.
