
Ignite Drops Series to South Bay

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., - NBA G League Ignite (0-7) fell to the South Bay Lakers (4-3), 150-126, on Sunday at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, Calif.
Ignite was led by Ron Holland, who poured in a season-high 24 points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes. Admon Gilder followed with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists on 8-of-14 shots from the field. John Jenkins and Jeremy Pargo added 16 points each, while Pargo also tallied seven assists.
The Lakers were paced by Scotty Pippen Jr., who notched a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Bryce Hamilton recorded 22 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Quinndary Weatherspoon posted 21 points and five assists.
Ignite fell behind early as the Lakers hot shooting continued from the night before. The Lakers opened the game shooting 65.9 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from the three-point line to take a 10-point lead heading into the second quarter. Down 12 early in the second quarter, Ron Holland went on a 9-0 run by himself, including two three-pointers and an impressive and-one basket, to cut Ignite's deficit to three points. Holland had a monster first-half performance after recording 24 points, three rebounds and two steals on 9-of-13 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc in that span. Holding a four-point lead with a little over four minutes remaining in the half, the Lakers went on a 16-2 run to take a 79-61 lead at the halfway mark. The Lakers extended its lead by 33 points in the third frame and never looked back. Ignite struggled to get back in transition as the Lakers scored 42 fast break points. The Lakers had eight players score in double-figures, while their entire starting lineup finished with at least 16 points each.
