Delmarva Shorebirds News Release

SALISBURY, MD - Due to inclement weather and projected forecasts, Saturday night's Delmarva Shorebirds-Hagerstown Suns game has been cancelled. It will not be made up.

Minor league rules state that a team may play no more than three doubleheaders within the span of one week. The Shorebirds and Suns played a twin bill on Friday night, and the Shorebirds have two doubleheaders scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday when the team visits Kannapolis.

This will be the seventh straight season Mother Nature has kept the Shorebirds from playing a full 140-game season. Delmarva last played all 140 games in 2011.

The Shorebirds and Suns will wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon with Delmarva's DL Hall (0-4, 4.28) matching up against Hagerstown's Tomas Alastre (3-2, 5.18). First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m. with gates opening at 1:00. The first 500 fans through the Perdue Stadium gates will receive a pink Shorebirds hat, presented by Spicer Bros. Construction, Inc., in conjunction with Women Supporting Women. It's also Perdue Strike Out Hunger Sunday, and postgame Kids Run the Bases presented by Chili's. Pregame coverage on Fox Sports 960 AM and the MiLB First Pitch app begins at 1:50 with Will DeBoer and Drew Williams on the call.
