Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI- With less than one month to go in the regular season the Milwaukee Admirals are in the thick of the playoff race and they face-off with one of their close competitors, the Peoria Rivermen, two times this weekend beginning with a 7:00 pm game on Friday, March 14th and following up with a 4:00 pm fray on Sunday, March 16th.
During the second intermission of Friday's game the Admirals will retire Tony Hrkac's number 26 into the Bradley Center rafters. Hrkac led the Admirals to unprecedented success in the five seasons that he donned an Admirals sweater. No Milwaukee team that he was a member of finished with fewer than 90 points and he helped to guide the 2003-04 squad that captured the Calder Cup Title, the organization's first professional championship.
The Thunder Bay, ON native led the Admirals in scoring three times, including 91 points in 1994-95, and finished his playing days with the Ads by averaging almost a point per game with 327 points (97g-223a) in just 340 contests. He ranks fourth in franchise history in assists, sixth in points, and ninth in games played.
In addition to the success he had with the Admirals, Hrkac also produced the best NHL career of any former Admiral. He totaled 132 goals and 239 assists for 371 points in 758 games with nine NHL squads. He posted a NHL career high 48 points in the 1987-88 season with the St. Lous Blues and then again in 1990-91 with the Quebec Nordiques. During the 1998-99 campaign he was a member of the Dallas Stars Stanley Cup Championship team, making him one of just ten former Admirals to have their name engraved on the sports most hallowed trophy.
In order to commemorate the night the first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a Tony Hrkac Bobblehead, courtesy of Potawatomi Bingo Casino, and Admiral greats Danny Lecours, Fred Berry, Phil Wittliff, and Gino Cavallini are scheduled to be on hand for the ceremony.
Sunday afternoon's affair is a Foley and Lardner Family Day & Skate where fans can get four tickets, four hotdogs, and four sodas for just $40 and then after the game those fans who bring their skates can take a few laps around the Bradley Center ice. The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive a set of Admirals trading cards, courtesy of Pepsi, and Reggy the Purple Party Dude will be in attendance to entertain people as well.
The Foley and Lardner Family Day packages must be ordered 24-hours in advance. The Admirals office, located at 510 W. Kilbourn Ave, will be open on Saturday, March 15th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Fans can order tickets by call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550 or by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com.
