River Rats Team Up With Batman Saturday

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that Batman, the protector of Gotham City, will be in attendance on Saturday during the River Rats heavyweight East Division showdown with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The River Rats and the Penguins are currently neck and neck in the East Division standings as they head towards their big confrontation this Saturday night at 7:00 pm. In efforts to give the players every competitive advantage, the River Rats have called on Batman to help set the tone for what should be an intense, playoff-type atmosphere at the Times Union Center. The Caped Crusader will be on hand to take pictures, sign autographs and will be stalking the Penguins during intermissions. In addition the River Rats will be giving away tickets to the March 30th Stars on Ice show and the April 7th WWE Monday Night Raw event, both to be held at the Times Union Center.

Also on Saturday night the River Rats are proud to teaming up with two great charitable causes, the local chapter of the American Cancer Society (ACS) and Families for Autistic Children Education and Support (FACES). The ACS will be running many fun activities to bring greater education and awareness to Colorectal Cancer. They will be providing free information, along with free FIT kits for colorectal screening for uninsured or underinsured fans, their costume character Polypman will be roaming the arena and they will hold a Mummy Roll Contest during an intermission. FACES will have a station set up in the concourse and will be raffling off some great River Rats donated team prizes all for autism awareness and to raise money for several different organizations around the capital district.

The River Rats will continue their week on Friday night with a road game at the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Albany will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night at the Times Union Center for a 7:00 pm face off.
