Big Inning Drops Raptors

The Ogden Raptors dropped the series finale to the Idaho Falls Chukars 13-4 Sunday at Melaleuca Field.

A seven-run fourth inning put the game away for the Chukars. Ogden led 2-1 coming into the bottom of the fourth. Wander Franco and DonAndre Clark hit a two-run singles, Cesar Gonzalez an Luis Valenzuela hit RBI singles and Gonzalez scored on a wild pitch to put Idaho Falls up 8-2.

Every Raptors starter had a hit Sunday, including a home run from Julian Leon. The catcher hit a solo shot in the sixth inning for his fourth of the season.

Leon has been hot recently. The home run was his third in as many games and his fourth in five games.

On the mound, starter Trevor Oaks pitched three innings and allowed just one run on one hit and struck out two.

Out of the bullpen, Brock Stewart pitched 2.2 shutout innings for the Raptors.

The Raptors will enjoy a day off before continuing their 11-game road trip in Great Falls, starting a four-game series with the Voyagers on Tuesday. Abdiel Velasquez will start for Ogden against Chris Freudenberg. Game starts at 7:05 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
