Big Inning Brings Win for Lookouts

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - A five-run second inning sparked a 6-3 Lookouts win over the Mobile BayBears in Thursday night action at AT&T Field.

With one out in the bottom of the second, Ryan Hanigan, Cody Strait, Tonys Gutierrez, and Marland Williams combined to hit four consecutive singles. Drew Anderson followed with a two-out triple, which plated two runs. Anderson found his way home on a Paul Janish double, accounting for the fifth and final run of the inning.

Mobile would enter the scoreboard in the fourth inning on a Wilkin Castillo RBI single to center field off of Lookouts starting pitcher Justin Mallett.

The BayBears inched closer in the fourth frame by scoring another run. Cesar Nicolas walked to begin the inning and advanced to third on a Justin Upton double. Nicolas would find his way home on a Carlos Gonzalez sac fly to left.

Chattanooga tacked-on an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI double off of the bat of Tyrell Godwin.

Mobile scored their final run of the evening in the eighth, when Carlos Gonzalez nailed an RBI double to bring in Justin Upton.

Calvin Medlock (1-1), who pitched 2.1 innings of relief, was credit with the win in a five-strikeout performance.

Mobile starting pitcher Chris Kinsey dropped to 1-4 on the season, after surrendering five runs on 10 hits in a five-inning performance.

Carlos Guevara pitched a perfect ninth to collect his second save for the Lookouts.

Mobile and Chattanooga will play the second game of a five-game series at AT&T Field, tomorrow at 7:15 P.M. Fireworks will be featured at the conclusion of the game.
