Manchester, N.H. - Despite a pair of two-run home runs from Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) took an 8-6 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) on Monday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

After Bichette hit a two-out double in the first inning off Dedgar Jimenez (W, 3-6), Biggio launched his league-leading 16th homer of the season over the right field wall to give New Hampshire an early 2-0 advantage. Bichette went the other way for his seventh homer, a two-run blast in the third inning.

Trailing 4-0, the Sea Dogs erupted for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning, highlighted by a Tate Matheny grand slam and a two-run home run from Chad De La Guerra. Portland led 7-4, and never trailed again.

De La Guerra went deep for a second time with a solo homer in the sixth, and the Fisher Cats could only scratch across two more runs the rest of the way.

Bichette finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and a homer, and passed teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the league lead in hits with 84. He also picked up his league-best 24th steal in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Biggio went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, and continues to lead the league with 60 runs batted in.

New Hampshire's bullpen pitched well, with Dusty Isaacs (2 IP, 1 R), Travis Bergen (2.1 IP, 1 H, 4 K), and Kirby Snead (1 IP, 1 K) keeping the Fisher Cats within striking distance. Monday's loss was the first time the Fisher Cats did not win a start by T.J. Zeuch (L, 5-3) since May 18.

Game 2 of the four-game series with Portland is set for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. RHP Josh DeGraaf (1-4, 7.27 ERA) takes the hill for New Hampshire against LHP Kyle Hart (5-4, 3.18 ERA).
