RAIN SHORTENS SERIES BETWEEN PONIES & GOATS: Sunday's series finale between Binghamton and Hartford was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up on July 31 at NYSEG Stadium as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:35 PM. Binghamton kicks off a four-game series with Trenton to cap its weeklong homestand.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Scott Copeland tosses with Binghamton for the 8th time this season. The 30-year-old surpassed 1000.0 career MiLB innings pitched his last time out, a loss at Trenton. Copeland was yanked in the sixth inning after allowing 10 hits and five earned runs. It's the first time in his nine-year pro career he's allowed 10 hits in back-to-back starts.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: Binghamton's last two wins have come in series finale's, both at Trenton (June 10 & June 21).
GOT YOUR NUMBER: Hartford has beaten Binghamton in seven straight games and has leapfrogged Binghamton for third place in the Eastern Division. The Rumble Ponies are alone in fourth place for the first time since May 25.
PONY 'PEN: Rumble Pony relievers tossed 3.2 hitless innings in Saturday's loss, extending their scoreless innings streak. Over the last 7.2 innings (three games), the bullpen has struck out 10 and walked just two.
QUARTERBACK SNEAK: Tim Tebow finished the night 2-for-4, his third multi-hit game in the last five. It's the first time in his Double-A career recording multiple hits in back-to-back games and is the only Rumble Ponies to do so in the current series against Hartford.
TAYLOR'D APPROACH: Kevin Taylor is batting .300 in June thanks to a 3-for-5 effort in Saturday's loss. It's Taylor's fourth multi-hit effort over the last six games and his fourth three-hit game of the season. Only Jhaon Urena (5) has more three-hit games on the active roster.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME? Binghamton's last win at NYSEG Stadium came as part of a doubleheader sweep on June 3 against New Hampshire. Since then, the Rumble Ponies have posted an 0-5 mark at home.
OFFENSIVE DROUGHT: The Rumble Ponies have scored more than three runs just three times over their last 11 games. During the stretch they sport a 1-10 mark, averaging 3.2 runs per game. The only win during the 11-game stretch came on June 21 in a 7-1 win at ARM & HAMMER Park in Trenton.
UP NEXT: Binghamton and Trenton continue their series on Tuesday evening when Rumble Ponies RHP Marcos Molina tosses against Thunder RHP Domingo Acevedo. First pitch at NYSEG Stadium is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
