The Boston Red Sox have announced a series of roster moves affecting the Salem Red Sox. C Danny Bethea has been promoted to Double-A Portland and C J.T. Watkins has been transferred from Low-A Greenville. Additionally, RHP Taylor Grover has been promoted to Double-A Portland. Please note the following changes:

DELETE: C Danny Bethea

ADD: C J.T. Watkins

DELETE: RHP Taylor Grover

Bethea appeared in just one game for Salem, contributing a game-tying RBI double in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Lynchburg Hillcats.

Watkins joins Salem after appearing in eight games for Low-A Greenville. With the Drive, he hit .148 with four RBI. He briefly appeared in Salem last year, playing in two games with the Red Sox.

Grover will be making his first appearance in Double-A after spending parts of the last three seasons in Salem. This year, Grover was 1-1 with a 2.67 ERA in 17 appearances, picking up three saves as well. He last appeared in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday, tossing a scoreless inning.

Watkins will wear number 25 for Salem. The Red Sox roster currently sits at 24, one below the Carolina League maximum, with three on the disabled list.
