Bernier Scores Twice and McAdam Makes 30 Saves in Bridgeport's Third Straight Win

HARTFORD, Conn. - Steve Bernier scored twice and Eamon McAdam made a career-best 30 saves on Wednesday as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (11-5-0-0), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, earned a 4-2 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack (5-10-2-0) at the XL Center.

The win was Bridgeport's third in a row and second in as many games against Hartford (2-0-0-0). In addition, McAdam improved to 3-0-0-0 this season in his third straight start for the Sound Tigers.

Bridgeport opened the scoring at 3:40 of the first period when Bernier notched his fifth goal of the season. Carter Verhaeghe created the opportunity with a heavy wrist shot between the circles that goaltender Magnus Hellberg stopped but couldn't cover. The rebound caromed right back to the doorstep where Bernier forced it home for the 1-0 advantage.

The Wolf Pack answered less than three minutes later when Ryan Graves delivered a power-play goal for his third tally of the season overall. With Pat Cullity in the box for interference, Mat Bodie directed a pass to the right point where Graves slammed a one-timer through traffic and past McAdam's;
