The Wild pressed the Moose in its own zone, forcing a turnover. Goalie Eric Comrie attempted to play the puck, but forward Jordan Schroeder swept in and claimed control. Pulkkinen redirected the puck into the net for his fifth goal of the season and a 1-0 Iowa lead. Defenseman Zach Palmquist added an assist on the game's opening goal. Iowa made it a 2-0 game at 4:57, as Nick Saracino scored his first goal of the season. Center Adam Gilmour worked the puck behind the Moose net for Kurtis Gabriel. The Wild winger sent a backhander into the Moose crease. The puck banked into the net off Saracino's skate for the two-goal lead. The Moose got on the scoreboard in the last minute of the opening period, as Jimmy Lodge jammed home a rebound for the 2-1 score. Lodge's third goal of the year was set up by Julian Melchiori and Dan DeSalvo.
The Wild sealed the win with 49 seconds remaining in regulation after Grayson Downing potted an empty-net goal. Forward Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Hunter Warner each had an assist on Downing's third goal of the year for the 3-1 final.
