IceHogs Host Cleveland Tonight

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs (7-8-1-0) face the Cleveland Monsters (5-8-1-1) for the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams, and the IceHogs first home mid-week matchup. Rockford looks to extend its success at home against Cleveland after a 5-2 victory on Oct. 23.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. It is the first WXRX Dollar Days and Fas Fuel Winning Weekdays. Fans can kick-start their Thanksgiving festivities by celebrating special deals at the IceHogs game, including $2 beer, hot dogs, sodas and companion tickets as part of the WXRX Dollar Days promotion. If the IceHogs win tonight, fans in attendance may redeem their ticket at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office for a free ticket of equal or lesser value to the next weekday home game, courtesy of Fas Fuel. After securing victories last week against Iowa and Texas, the IceHogs look to extend their success and even a 1-2 series against the Monsters this season. Rockford has a history of dominating the Monsters at home and has secured 17 home victories all-time in the history of the teams' meetings.

In the teams' last meeting in October, the IceHogs took control of the puck early and got on the scoreboard in the first period with a goal by Kyle Baun. Martin Lundberg and Spencer Abbott scored, extending the lead to 3-0, before Cleveland got past Mac Carruth to narrow the lead to 3-2. Brandon Mashinter added a tally in the third and with an empty net goal by Carl Dahlstrom, the IceHogs notched a 5-2 victory.

Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. Face-off is set for 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Milwaukee Admirals for the third matchup of the season. Rockford defeated the Admirals in a 3-2 shootout victory for its home opener on Oct. 22, however later fell to Milwaukee 3-7 on Oct. 30. Friday is Military Appreciation Night and the IceHogs will be sporting specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off following the contest.
