Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman Benn Olson has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. To fill Olson's spot on the roster, the Cyclones have added defenseman Nathan Schwartzbauer.
Olson, a third-year rear guard, makes his second trip to the Triple-A level this season. Earlier this month, he skated in one game with the Milwaukee Admirals but didn't register any points or penalty minutes. In 46 career American Hockey League games, the Port McNeil, British Columbia native has earned four assists and logged 161 penalty minutes. In 43 games with the Cyclones this season, Olson leads the team and ranks second in the ECHL with 17 major penalties. On January 28, he scored his first professional goal against the South Carolina Stingrays. Olson will join the Sound Tigers as they open up a three-game series with the Manchester Monarchs.
Schwartzbauer joins the Cyclones after spending most of his career in the Central Hockey League. This season, he has skated in 44 games with the Dayton Gems and has posted one assist with 29 penalty minutes. In 2008-09, the Wasilla, Alaska native played in the ECHL with the Dayton Bombers - amassing 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists) and 50 penalty minutes in 72 games. Prior to going pro in 2007, the six-foot-four defenseman played four collegiate seasons at Bemidji State University where he earned 18 points in 126 career games.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena TOMORROW, February 25, when they play host to the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:30pm. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Bob Herzog Bobblehead courtesy of Local 12. 2010-11 single game and discounted group tickets are available now. 2011-12 season tickets go on sale to the general public on March 5.
