Beloit tops Wisconsin, 5-1

The Beloit Snappers ended the 2009 season with a 5-1 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, sweeping the three game set.

Starting pitcher Daniel Osterbrock went seven innings as he struck out nine batters in the win. Over the seven frames Osterbrock gave up zero walks and gave up just one earned run.

Kyle Carr replaced Osterbrock and went two innings and struck out five hitters and gave up no runs.

At the dish Ozzie Lewis had a perfect day as he went 3-for-3 with a walk as Reggie Williams went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and walked twice.

Wisconsin jumped out on top in the fourth inning when Brandon Sizemore belted a two out solo shot to left.

The Wisconsin lead was short lived as the Snappers came roaring back with three runs in the bottom half to take a 3-1 lead.

In the sixth inning the Snappers extended their lead by scoring a pair of runs making it 5-1 in favor of the Snappers.

Williams led off the sixth with a double to right as Aaron Hicks followed with his 15 double of the season that scored Williams from second. Drew Thompson singled to right that scored Hicks to end the scoring.

With the season over the Snappers finished with a 57-83 over all record and finished the second half with a record of 30-40.
