
Beetles earn a 6-1 win

(Brainerd Lakes Area) - Chris Fritts hit a three-run home run in the 5th inning to help propel the Alexandria Beetles to a 6-1 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers Thursday night at Mills Field.
Fritts' home run broke a 1-1 tie game in the 5th inning.
Michael Reed got the win for the Beetles as he moves to (4-2) on the season. Reed pitched seven innings, giving up one run on six hits and striking out seven.
Joe Willman takes the loss for the Lunkers, falling to (4-1). Willman pitched six innings, giving up four runs and six hits, striking out four.
The only run for the Lunkers came in the Bottom of the 1st when a Dan Olinger sacrifice bunt brought home Nick Hamilton.
The Beetles would go on to score five unanswered runs from there.
The game also experienced two lightning delays as well.
The Lunkers are back in action Friday night as they take on the St. Cloud River Bats at Joe Faber Field. First Pitch is set for 7:05.
