Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - Following a fifth-consecutive series clinching win in a four-game set at El Paso, the Salt Lake Bees return home for their longest homestand of the season. The stretch will consist of two four-game series, the first against the Fresno Grizzlies (16-8) beginning Monday night at 6:35 at Smith's Ballpark.

The Bees come into the series against Fresno as one of the best offensive clubs in all of professional baseball. Led by sluggers Jabari Blash and Chris Carter, who each have a PCL-leading nine dingers, the Bees' 47 total home runs would be tops in any level of pro ball. The dynamic duo are also No. 1 and 2 in RBI, Carter leads the league with 29 with Blash in second with 22. David Fletcher is one of the top contact hitters in the PCL, with just 3 strikeouts in 94 at-bats, which is by far the best punch out per appearance ratio in the league.

While the Bees' batting has been the story of the season so far, the pitching staff has also contributed to the team's early success. The hurlers are highlighted by reliever Ian Krol, who has yet to allow a run, earned or unearned, in 12.1 innings of work over 10 games. He also leads the team with three saves.

Fresno comes into series as a strong offensive unit as well. The Grizzlies' batting average of .297 is good for fourth in the PCL, led by Drew Ferguson, whose .360 average is good for ninth in the league, just behind Fletcher. Tony Kemp has also started the season on the right foot, with 32 hits on the season, which puts him in a tie for third on the leaderboard.

In addition to the high-level of play on the field, the Bees are sure to entertain with a exciting lineup of promotions and theme nights. Monday's game will be a Smith's Family Night, where $20 gets four tickets and four hot dogs to enjoy during the contest. Tuesday's matchup with Fresno is Taco Tuesday where $2 is good for two tacos. The final game of the series on Thursday will be the Bees' annual Kids Day, where Smith's Ballpark will be filled with young students out to enjoy a field trip to the stadium to take in a matinee ball game.
