Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football (UIF) will look to continue their run to the playoffs this Saturday as the team travels to Bloomington, Ill. to take on the Extreme. Bloomington defeated the Beef 46-40 in Week 9. The game can be heard only online at www.1620thezone.com with pre-game action starting at 6:45 Pm and kickoff at 7:05 PM.

Omaha (5-6) had a very impressive win last week vs. Rock River. The Beef were the first team to score over 50 on the Rock River defense when they put up 70 on the Raptors. Wide receiver Jason Mitchell caught all of Andy Majors' four touchdown passes and RJ Rollins ran for 90 yards and a touchdown for the powerful Beef offense. Rollins added another 133 yards in kick returns for a total of 223 all-purpose yards for the game.

The Beef did just enough to help the offense in the victory over Rock River. It was the most points that the defense has given up this season. Omaha's defense is only allowing 37.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the UIF. Randy Stella led the way for the defense last week by recording five tackles, one sack, and one interception, which he returned seven yards for a touchdown.

Bloomington's (5-6) performance last week was not nearly as exciting as the Extreme fell to Ohio Valley 43-37. Extreme quarterback Dusty Burk made his first appearance since Week 7. The Extreme went 3-1 without Burk, but should be improved as Burk has 22 touchdown passes on the season and leads the team with six rushing touchdowns despite being sidelined for four weeks. Burk did not play in the last meeting with Omaha.

Beef Head Coach Robert Fuller says, "This is a match up that has been in the back of our minds since May 20th so we are excited for the opportunity to play Bloomington again. We appreciate competing against a first class organization the does things the right way."

The Beef will return home for their final regular season home game July 8th. Individual tickets still remain and can be purchased by calling Jenny Cheney at the Omaha Beef Football Office at 402-346-2333.
