Become A Part of History: Sign the New Wall

APPLEBEE'S PARK (Lexington, KY) -- The severe thunderstorms that blew through Lexington, Tuesday morning, handed Applebee's Park its first experience with significant storm damage in its history.

For the next three days the Lexington Legends are going to turn the battle with Mother Nature, into a positive.

Announced at a press conference on Friday, the Legends will allow its season ticket holders and booster club members the chance to sign the new centerfield wall.

Children who attend the games over the weekend will get a chance to sign the new centerfield wall, as well, before every home game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Our fans are going to be able to be apart of the history of our team and our ballpark forever," President and CEO Alan Stein said. "By signing the new wall, generations will be able to come to Applebee's Park and point to centerfield knowing their name has been etched in the ballpark for many years."

The damaging winds and heavy rains left the outfield fence mangled and several of the offices flooded Tuesday morning, as the team faced off against West Virginia. No one was injured, and despite the damage left by the severe storm, the staff at Applebee's Park still managed to get the field ready for its scheduled contest on Wednesday.

The Legends intend on placing the original signage overtop the new centerfield wall, meaning the signatures of fans who sign the wall will be underneath the new signage.
