Beavers to host July 4th celebration

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers and Portland General Electric (PGE) are teaming up to celebrate the nation's independence on Friday, July 4, with a host of activities - including a special post-game fireworks show - as the Beavers play host to the Tacoma Rainiers at PGE Park.

The traditional fireworks show will follow the conclusion of the game and will originate from the center field area of PGE Park. A host of additional special events - including a series of in-game appearances by the nationally acclaimed entertainment act, ZOOperstars! - will add to the Independence Day festivities.

It is also a Comcast Family Feast Friday, featuring $1 hot dogs, ice cream treats and Dasani water.

First pitch is 7:05 p.m., and gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the game, which annually draws one of the largest crowds of the season, are available at the PGE Park box office, located at 1844 S.W. Morrison, or through Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (503) 224-4400 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com. Advance tickets range from $8-$14.

Additionally, the Beavers are offering a special $35 ticket for the July 4 game that includes seating in the exclusive Left Field Lounge near the Beavers dugout and an all-you-can-eat menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and soft drinks. These tickets are available by calling the Beavers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
