Beavers outfielder drives in four runs in win

Memphis, Tenn. - Memphis dropped their first game at AutoZone Park since the All-Star break losing 6-3 to Portland Tuesday night.

Paul McAnulty led the way for the Beavers going 3-for-4 with four RBI on the night. McAnulty put Portland on the board in the first inning with a three-run homer to right field. He later tacked on another run with a run-scoring double. The Beavers slugger finished the night a triple shy of the cycle. David Freese provided the Redbirds offense knocking in all three runs.

Wade LeBlanc picked up the win for Portland with six solid innings. The former Alabama standout gave up one run on three hits fanning seven to earn his eighth win of the year. Memphis starter Clayton Mortensen took the loss allowing five runs on five hits over six innings. Edwin Moreno notched his 13th save of the season with a spotless ninth inning.

The ‘Birds and Beavers play tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. P.J. Walters gets the nod for the home team with Portland yet to announce a starter.
