Game Keys - Jason Nix smoked a solo home run into left field to walk off a Sky Sox 7-6 win over the Zephyrs in 12 innings on Tuesday night. Nix drove home three runs in the game including three hits in the Colorado Springs win. The Sox jumped out to a two - nothing lead when the Z's scored a run in the fourth on a Andy Green triple followed by a sacrifice fly. The Z's trailed 3-1 when New Orleans would plate eight batters in the sixth scoring four runs. Valentino Pascucci drilled his team leading 20th home run of the season. The Skysox rallied and tied the game seventh scoring a pair of runs. The Z's took the lead in the top of the ninth but could not hold it as the SkySox anwered in the bottom of the inning with a run scoring on a passed ball. The miscue allowed the trying run to score from third base. Nix home rin in the 12th ended the game. Matt Daley earned the win in relief, he worked two shut out innings. Tim McNab suffered the loss. The Z's allowed seven runs on Tuesday but three were earned as the Z's committed four errors in the game.
Game Notes: The Zephyrs played into extra innings for the second consecutive game and are now 7-6 in extra inning games. The home run allowed by McNab is his tenth of the season and his 4th in his last 5 appearances. Pascucci becomes the 14th Zephyr in franchise history to hit 20 or more home runs in a season.
