April 11, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release

Antero Niittymaki is credited with an overtime game-winning goal as the Philadelphia Phantoms end HERSHEY'S playoff hopes with a 3-2 OT win at GIANT Center. It's the first time since 1992-93 that HERSHEY has missed the postseason. Peter Vandermeer got the scoring underway with his fifth goal of the season in the first period, but Marty Hlinka would tie the game in the second with his sixth goal of the year. After Kirby Law gave the Phantoms a 2-1 lead, Travis Brigley scored to tie the game at the 6:06 mark of the third period. Into overtime, the BEARS outshot Philly 5-0 to begin the four on four, but an errant Shane Willis pass deflected off the wall into a net vacated by Phil Sauve for an empty net game winning goal. The goal was credited to goaltender Antero Niittymaki.

The BEARS finish the season at 33-35-8-4 and in sixth place in the East Division standings.
