Bears resume hunt for the playoffs tonight against Portland

Only five points out with 13 games to go, the BEARS host the Pirates tonight at GIANT Center at 7:30 p.m. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the team directly in front of HERSHEY, plays on the road tonight at Hamilton.

The BEARS have won two straight entering play tonight after a 3-0 shutout win Sunday at home against Wilkes-Barre. HERSHEY and the Penguins both play four games in five days this week, with the BEARS traveling to Rochester Friday to play the Americans before hosting Philadelphia Saturday night. HERSHEY welcomes Wilkes-Barre back to GIANT Center Sunday afternoon to complete the week's docket. Wilkes-Barre travels to Bridgeport Friday night and will host the Providence Bruins Saturday evening before coming to town Sunday afternoon.

Peter Budaj is expected to be HERSHEY'S goaltender tonight against Portland. The BEARS signed Carl Mallette earlier today to a tryout contract. Mallette played most recently for the ECHL's Toledo Storm.

Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS radio network beginning at 7:10 p.m. John Walton and injured BEARS defenseman Dean Arsene have the call of the action. Tickets are still available for tonight's game at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 534-3911.
