
Bears fall in Springfield 4-2

The BEARS get a big week off to a rough start with a 4-2 loss at Springfield.
HERSHEY opened the scoring with Marek Svatos potting his 15th goal of the season at 4:21 of the first period. The assists went to Martin Hlinka and Brett Clark on the power play as the BEARS struck first. Springfield would rally to take the lead before intermission with a power play goal from Jim Campbell at 8:05 and an even strength goal from Nikita Alexeev at 11:55 to lead the game 2-1 after twenty minutes.
Springfield tallied the only goal of the second period when former BEARS forward Ryan Craig scored on the power play at the 15:32 mark. Craig Darby and Jim Campbell assisted on the lamp-lighter to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead after two periods.
Ryan Steeves scored in the third period after Justin Kelly gave the Falcons a 4-1 lead. The BEARS fall to 33-29-2-1 with the defeat.
The BEARS will travel to Binghamton Friday for an East Division showdown with the Senators. Face-off at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena is set for 7:05 p.m.
