PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Pelicans starter Randy Beam allowed just one run in eight innings of work as the Pelicans downed the Cats 6-1 on Sunday night in the series finale.

The Pelicans scored twice in the third inning as Adam Darby led off the inning with a double. One out later, Dallas Christison singled to right, scoring Darby to put the Pelicans on the scoreboard. Kevin Reynolds then walked before Francisco Leandro hit a ground ball to short on which the Cats failed to turn a double play, allowing Christison to score for a 2-0 advantage.

The Cats narrowed the lead to 2-1 in the fifth inning as Isa Garcia smacked his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot to left.

But the Pelicans answered in the last of the fifth as Adam Darby reached on a leadoff walk.
