The Sioux Falls Canaries came away with a 4-3 win thanks to a walk-off single to left field off the bat of SS Tim Hutting. That base hit drove in the tying and winning runs and gave Sioux Falls its eighth win of the second half. Canaries CF Beau Torbert led the way offensively. He was 2-for-4 with a solo home run, his sixth of the season. Both starters pitched well, but neither factored in the decision. Instead it was Sioux Falls reliever Amad Stephens picking up the win. He allowed a run in two innings to improve to 3-0.

Lincoln 3, Shreveport-Bossier 2 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

With the score tied, 1-1, entering the seventh inning, Lincoln scored a pair of unearned runs to go up 3-1. Saltdogs closer Chris Thompson allowed a run in the bottom of the seventh, but held the lead and earned his 24th save. Lincoln RF Rafael Alvarez was the star of the game offensively. He was 3-for-3 with a solo home run. Saltdogs reliever Adam Daniels came away with the win, his fourth, after tossing a scoreless sixth inning.

Shreveport-Bossier 12, Lincoln 6 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

Shreveport-Bossier bounced back to earn a split of its doubleheader with Lincoln thanks to a big 10-run fifth inning. The Captains sent 14 batters to the plate in the frame and tallied eight hits. Shreveport-Bossier DH Christopher Garcia led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI. Lincoln 3B Brandon Jones had a great game in the losing effort. He was 2-for-3 with home run and four RBI.

Pensacola starting pitcher Randy Beam made one mistake, allowing a solo home run to Fort Worth DH Isa Garcia in the fifth inning, but was otherwise great en route to his seventh win. Beam allowed the one run on four hits and struck out four in eight innings to lead the Pelicans past the Cats. Pensacola SS Dallas Christison led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. CF Francisco Leandro also played well. He was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two driven in.

St. Paul 5, Sioux City 3

St. Paul LF Jacob Butler hit two home runs to lead the Saints past Sioux City on the road. Butler finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI and St. Paul collected 12 hits as a team in the win. Saints 1B Jason Cooper also went deep in the contest, giving him six on the season. St. Paul starting pitcher Charlie Ruud allowed three runs on five hits while striking out two in 6 2/3 innings to earn the win and improve to 6-3 on the year. Closer Kerry Ligtenberg sat down Sioux City 1-2-3 in the ninth for his 15th save.

El Paso 12, Grand Prairie 3

The El Paso Diablos tallied 14 hits as a team and scored in six different innings en route to an easy win against Grand Prairie. El Paso 2B Jorge Alvarez led the way offensively, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and five RBI. 3B Juan Camacho and DH Hector Bernal also went deep for the Diablos. Bernal finished 3-for-5 with three RBI. El Paso starting pitcher Garvis Romero allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out six in six innings of work to earn the win and improve to 3-1.
