· 4/6: Last Meeting with the Generals
The Generals started like so many other teams have against the struggling Beacons; a quick 2-0 lead. The Beacons however would show their resilience again as they have all season. Bouncing back from a 2-0 deficit the Beacons were lead by Chris Slater and Aaron Brand. Slater's goal (10) came in the middle of the second period to cut the lead in half while Aaron Brand scored (27) with :47 seconds left in regulation to send the game into a shootout. In the shootout Josh Tataryn and Jeff Goldie beat Flint goaltender, Nathan Grobins. Kory Cooper stopped all four chances the Generals had in return for the 3-2 shootout victory. Andrew McPherson had two assists on the night (41, 42) while David Beauregard (26) and Slater added the extra helpers (24).
· 4/8: Beacons Shoot Down the Outlaws
After a scoreless first period the Beacons and Outlaws exploded for eight goals in the final forty minutes. The Beacons and Outlaws traded goals in the second as Gabriel Proulx (13) and David Beauregard (44) scored for the Beacons. Malcolm MacMillan (25, 26) netted his first of two assists on the night as well as Joey Sewell (27) and Rico Fatticci (18). In the third period the Beacons added three more goals; Chris Slater (11), Aaron Brand (28) and Gray Shaneberger (16) all tallied the goals. Brand (50), Slater (25), Beauregard (27) and Proulx (23) all added assists for a two point night. Goaltender, Kory Cooper made 24 saves on 27 shots for the 5-3 win; their second straight win and three of their last four.
· 4/9: Last Road Trip of the Season
This time it was the Beacons who jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead. David Beauregard (45) scored 13:03 into the game followed up by Joey Sewell (27) at 5:48 of the second period. Aaron Brand would net the final two goals for the Beacons on the night, his 29th and 30th goals of the season. Others netting assists were Chad Dameworth (12), Chris Slater (26), Ian Jacobs (20), Trevor Edwards (25) and Andrew McPherson (43). Beauregard also added two assists (28, 29). · 4/10: Beacons Final Game at McMorran
The final game of the beacons franchise is one that many will not forget. It was a barn burner as both teams were lighting the lamp. 12 goals were scored in regulation as both teams played an open style of play. It was Danbury who scored first and second in the opening period. However, like so many times before, the Beacons bounced back netting two of their own to tie the game only to let Danbury get one more before the period ended. Scoring in the first for the Beacons was, David Beauregard, his first of two on the night (46, 47) and Aaron Brand (31). In the second period Port Huron scored two more times, Gray Shaneberger (17) and Trevor Edwards (19) tallied the goals, while Danbury only managed one goal. Four more goals were scored in the third with the Beacons netting two more, Jeff Goldie (20) and Beauregards' goal tied the game at six. So we headed to a shootout and what better way to end the season and franchise then in dramatic fashion. Kory Cooper stopped the first attempt by Danbury, and then it was David Beauregards turn. He did not disappoint, he beat Ryan McIntosh for his third goal of the game although it officially was a shootout goal. Danbury's next shooter tied it up by slowly skating down the ice and slowly lulling Cooper to sleep with is methodical approach. It worked and we were tied at one. However, Ian Jacobs on the Beacons third attempt beat McIntosh again and Cooper stood tall in the final two attempts by the Trashers. The Beacons finished the season with a four game win streak and winning five of their last six.
