
BC Lions Sign Two Including DL Jonathan Newsome

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club today announced that it has added American DL Jonathan Newsome along with National DB Oshane Samuels to the practice roster.
Newsome (6'3", 245) is a four-year CFL veteran who began his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2016 and was most recently a member of the Ottawa RedBlacks. The Ball State grad has appeared in 42 regular season games including nine with Ottawa in 2019 and has tallied 50 defensive tackles along with seven career sacks.
Samuels (6'1", 200) hails from Brampton, Ontario and attended training camp with the Edmonton Eskimos following a notable junior football career with the Edmonton Huskies.
The Lions also announced that National OL Johnathan Harke and American DL Ebo Ogundeko have been released.
The next BC Lions home game is Saturday, August 24 versus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats presented by Save-On Foods.
