
BayHawks Fall in Overtime to Drive

Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie couldn't seal the game in the crucial minutes against the Grand Rapids Drive this evening at Erie Insurance Arena, falling 100-104 in overtime.
Erie played one of its best first quarters of the season, scoring 29 points behind 12 Jordan Sibert buckets. Grand Rapids used a 19-5 run at the opening of the second quarter to take the lead from the BayHawks and close the half leading 53-45. The Drive outscored the BayHawks 28-16 in the second on 47% shooting. Erie turned the ball over 11 times for 14 Grand Rapids points compared to only two turnovers for the Drive in the second quarter. Sibert posted a game-high 18 points going into halftime.
The BayHawks outscored the Drive 29-19 in the third quarter while shooting 53% from the field. Melvin Ejim had the hot hand in the quarter, posting 12 points and three rebounds. Erie relinquished its two-point lead in the fourth and allowed the Drive to tie the game in the closing minutes to send it to overtime.
The Drive took the lead on a Dahntay Jones three-pointer in the first five seconds of the overtime period and didn't lose it again. Spencer Dinwiddie sealed the game for Grand Rapids with two free throws in the final ten seconds.
Devin Ebanks posted 17 points to go with five rebounds for the Grand Rapids Drive. In his return to Erie, Henry Sims had 16 points and nine rebounds. Jones added 16 points of his own.
Sibert posted a game-high 29 points on eight three-point field goals. Nnanna Egwu put up 23 points and eight rebounds on 10 of 17 shooting from the floor. Ejim had his second double-double in as many games with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
