PEARL, MS -- Zach Borenstein went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Mobile BayBears to a 5-1 victory over the Mississippi Braves Saturday at Trustmark Park. The series continues with game four of five Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Mississippi (14-9, 53-39) scored one run on five hits while Mobile (14-9, 56-36) plated five runs on 12 hits. While Borenstein led the BayBears at the plate, Sean Jamieson, Tom Belza and Steve Rodriguez each added two hits.

The BayBears took a 1-0 lead in the second. Borenstein singled and Ryan Court was hit by a pitch to start the inning. A wild pitch allowed both runners to advance. Evan Marzilli followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Borenstein and put the BayBears out front.

Mississippi responded in the bottom of the frame. Kyle Kubitza doubled and scored on Daniel Castro's single to center field, tying the game at 1-1.

Belza led off the third with a single to center. He took second on a wild pitch before coming in to score on Borenstein's base hit to center, giving the BayBears a 2-1 lead.

Jamieson and Belza both singled to start the seventh. Jake Lamb followed with a RBI-double to left, extending the BayBears lead to 3-1.

Mobile made it a 5-1 game in the ninth. Todd Glaesmann led off with a double to left field. He took third on a wild pitch before Borenstein delivered a triple to deep center, plating Glaesmann and Ryan Court followed with a sacrifice fly to drove home Borenstein.

Archie Bradley (1-0) tossed 5.2 innings and limited the Braves to just one earned run on three hits and four walks. Bradley struck out five batters to notch the win. Williams Perez (3-5) took the loss, giving up two earned runs on five hits and a walk. He struck out four in five innings pitched.

Braves right-hander Ryan Weber (3-3, 4.06) toes the rubber in game three of this five-game series. He'll counter BayBears righty Mike Lee (6-4, 4.22). First pitch is slated for 5:00 PM. Gates open at 4:00 PM.
