Jacksonville, Fla. - Cyle Hankerd continued his hot hitting, contributing three doubles and two RBI for the Mobile BayBears (16-8) in a 5-3 victory over the Jacksonville Suns (13-11) in front of 5,648 Sunday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Mobile starter Barry Enright (1-1) picked up the victory, allowing two runs and five hits over five and one-thirds innings. The 2007 second round pick by the Diamondbacks allowed three walks with three strikeouts in his fifth start of the season.

Suns starter Aaron Thompson (1-3) was tagged with the loss, allowing five runs, three earned, over six innings. Thompson dealt 86 pitches with 56 strikes in his fifth start of 2009.

BayBears southpaw Scott Maine (3) picked up the save, with a walk and a strikeout in the ninth inning.

Mobile took an early lead against Thompson, scoring three times in the first inning. Cyle Hankerd doubled down the left field line in two runs for a 2-0 lead. Hankerd finished the day with three hits, improving to 11-17 at the plate in the current series. Mark Hallberg next singled Hankerd for a 3-0 Mobile lead.

The teams traded third inning runs for a 4-1 score. Gerardo Parra scored on a Kevin Randel error for Mobile while Chris de la Cruz hit a sacrifice fly to score Aaron Thompson for the Suns.

Jacksonville cut the lead to two runs in the fourth inning when Andy Jenkins singled in Lee Mitchell for a 4-2 score. The BayBears added another run during the sixth inning on a Yunesky Sanchez single for a 5-2 advantage. The Suns ended the scoring in the seventh inning as Matt Craig's single plated Bryan Petersen for a 5-3 score.

Suns RH Cristhian Martinez will face BayBears Bryan Augenstein Monday at 11:05 a.m. in the series finale at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
