Bay FC News Release
San Francisco - Bay FC, the Bay Area's newest professional sports franchise and member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), today announced Brady Stewart as the club's first CEO. She will lead the club forward in its mission to be an iconic Bay Area sports franchise that will be a leader in building women's professional soccer globally.
Stewart built her career in the consumer and retail industry. Before joining Bay FC, Stewart led the growth of Levi Strauss & Co.'s direct-to-consumer business in the United States.
"Women's sports are a revolution happening in real-time. Bay FC will be a rallying point for our fans in the Bay Area, for women's sports, for the next generation of leaders and for anyone who wants to be part of creating an inclusive organization that unites our fans across the Bay Area and beyond," said Brady Stewart, CEO of Bay FC. "We will establish a legacy that unites and energizes our fans and celebrates our athletes for what they are: the best soccer players in the world."
Stewart will lead the charge of building a best-in-class organization in the front office and on the field, while working closely with the team's co-founders, including investment firm Sixth Street and USWNT legends Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton and Aly Wagner.
"Brady is a world-class leader with a proven instinct for innovating and accelerating growth in changing markets, and she's going to drive our founding vision of building Bay FC into a franchise that represents more than just a soccer team," said Alan Waxman, co-chair of Bay FC and co-founder and CEO of Sixth Street. "She has a deep love and appreciation for both the game and the Bay Area, and she knows how to galvanize passionate people towards a common goal. Our entire investor group is here to support her, and we're excited for where she's going to take Bay FC."
Stewart plans to build Bay FC into an innovative organization that uses data to elevate the team's performance on and off the pitch, create authentic connections to Bay FC fans and deliver best in class stadium experiences. She will prioritize creating a culture that celebrates and empowers players before, during and after their careers at the club. And she will lead the club in its mission to increase equity by fostering community programs that develop generations of future leaders across the Bay Area.
Bay FC was announced as the NWSL's team No. 14 in early April 2023 and is preparing for its inaugural season in 2024. The club recently launched its organization with more than 5,000 people at a fan festival in The Presidio of San Francisco.
