EAU CLAIRE, WI - Joe Battistelli (Eastern Michigan) threw 7 innings giving up just 1 run in a stellar performance against the Eau Claire Express.

Battistelli retired the first 10 Express hitters to begin the game, and never took his foot off the pedal. He finished his outing giving up only 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.

Offensively, Dillon Moyer (UC Irvine) wasted no time getting going. He lined the very first pitch of the game down the left field line for a stand-up double. He was later brought around on an RBI single by Daniel Rockett (UT San Antonio) to put Battle Creek on the board. A bases loaded walk with Tom Albert (Doane College) at the plate brought in another run in the 1st inning.

The Bombers added to their lead in the 4th with back-to-back RBI singles by Dylan Delaney (Michigan) and Rockett to extend their lead to 4-0. They extended the lead further with insurance runs in the 8th and 9th inning. Jeremy Shay (Bowling Green), Moyer, and Rockett all tallied 2 hits for Battle Creek.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America.
