Alexandria Beetles News Release
Rochester, MN - Jared Miller and Jordan Milbrath combined on a two-hitter and the Rochester Honkers scored six runs, five unearned, off Alexandria starter Steve Weber in the second, cruising to an 11-1 victory in the first of two at Mayo Field.
Dylan Raper and Jimmy Pickens had the only two hits for the Beetles (9-17) who had no answer for the arms of Rochester (11-15). Only three of the Honkers runs were earned.
Rochester scored their six runs in the second on just three hits along with a pair of walks, and an error. The Honkers tacked on another in the fifth and two each in the sixth and seventh.
Alexandria's lone run scored in the fourth inning on Raper's two-out RBI single driving in Ben Moore.
Jared Musgrove reached base three times with two walks and a hit by pitch.
The teams conclude their series at 1:05 CDT Tuesday with Scott Sanderson (0-1) throwing for the Beetles against Chris Noble (1-3).
