Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release

DUNEDIN, Fla. - The Fort Myers Miracle (7-9) knocked out 13 hits for the third time in four nights to take the first of a three game series against the Dunedin Blue Jays (8-8) with a 10-4 win. Ehire Adrianza collected three singles and three runs in his first rehab start for the Miracle.

Dunedin plated the first run of the game off RHP Keaton Steele (W, 1-2) in the second inning with a single by JC Cardenas, scoring Danny Jansen. Fort Myers' five-run third proved to be the counter they need to get their bats going against RHP Conor Fisk (L, 0-2). The inning was punctuated by Chris Paul's three-run bomb, his first of the season.

Th e Blue Jays fought back with singular runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings, including a solo home run by Lane Thomas, but the run support kept coming for the Miracle. Zander Wiel roped a pair of doubles in the later innings to bring home three runs of his own. In the sixth, Nelson Molina provided a triple for his second RBI of the night. As part of a three-run ninth, Max Murphy singled to score Wiel, his third hit of the night.

LHP Michael Theofanopoulos and LHP Jonny Drozd relieved Steele to the tune of three scoreless innings to close out the game.

Game two of the three game set begins at 6:30 PM ET on Saturday. RHP Randy LeBlanc starts for Fort Myers while RHP Ryan Cook toes the rubber for Dunedin.
