BUFFALO, NY - On a rare weekday matinée, the Buffalo Bisons fell to the Worcester Red Sox 3-1 in the third game of this six-game series on Thursday afternoon from Sahlen Field.

Shaun Anderson made the start for the Herd and threw two scoreless innings, before Nick Allgeyer took over and gave up a two-run homer to Ronaldo Hernández to open the scoring in the third.

The Herd cut the deficit in half in the fourth when LJ Talley doubled home Otto López with nobody out, but the Bisons couldn't cash in the tying run as Brian Keller set the next three batters down in order.

Keller ultimately allowed just three hits and the one run over his five innings of work, in addition to walking two and striking out seven.

Brandon Eisert, Matt Peacock, and Foster Griffin combined to throw four shutout innings to keep the Herd within one, but the bats just couldn't muster any offence as the Worcester pitching staff allowed just one hit over the final five innings.

An RBI groundout by Nick Sogard in the top of the ninth tacked on an insurance run for the WooSox, before Frank German closed things out in the bottom half.

The Bisons and WooSox will resume their series tomorrow night, with Thomas Hatch set to face Chris Murphy at 7:05 p.m. EST.
