Barron, Wright Lead Jam to Victory over Legends

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., November 29, 2014 - Earl Barron scored a game-high 27 points to go along with eight rebounds in a 102-88 Bakersfield Jam (4-3) road win over the Texas Legends (4-2) Saturday night. In his first start of the season, Chris Wright finished with 23 points, a team-high eight assists and six rebounds.
Bakersfield and Texas got off to a slow start to start the game, as they both struggled to get anything going offensively. After taking a 21-19 lead at the 1:00 minute mark of the opening quarter, Bakersfield protected that lead and never looked back. The Jam eventually built up their lead to as many as 18 in the second quarter and 19 in the third. The closest Texas got in the second half was within seven points (72-65) late in the third.
Overall, the Jam outrebounded Texas (46-44), had more assists (20-14), fast break points (26-16) and second chance points (14-9), while the Legends shot better from the field (42.5-38.8) and had more points in the paint (46-38).
Elijah Millsap (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Mac Koshwal (14 points, 10 rebounds) each posted a double-double for Bakersfield.
Doron Lamb led the way for Texas with 20 points. Eric Griffin (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Damion James (13 points, 11 rebounds) recorded a double-double apiece.
Bakersfield concludes their three-game road trip on Monday, December 1 when they battle the Oklahoma City Blue at 5:00 p.m. PT.
